Grandma Wheeler
Today we took a little drive to see Daniels grandma, his favorite aunt & uncle and their awesome family. They treated us to lunch and then we spent a few hours visiting before heading home. They have 9 kids who are all incredible individuals. Since we have been married I have never felt anything but love, kindness and acceptance from them. I totally understand why they are Daniels favorites. For the past few years they have been taking care of Grandma Wheeler. She is definitely slowing down and that has been a bit sad for Daniel as he has always felt a special bond with her. In fact one of the first things that I loved about Daniel was the way he cared for her. She had such an adorable sometimes feisty, always loving personality. Now her hearing is going, as is her memory, and we cant help but wonder how much longer she will be here. Its kind of bitter sweet to think about cuz on the one hand you know she will be reunited with her husband and her family, but on the other its never easy to say goodbye to those we love. Anyway, it was nice to see her and chat for a minute, and it was so nice to be with the Hathcocks.

I love spending time with people who I love and look up to. It makes me want to be a better person as well. That's great you have such nice family members to spend time with.
It's hard to watch someone you love decline like that. Both my grandmas are gone now and it was hard to say goodbye. I'm glad you were able to spend time with her and I hope there's plenty more times to come.
My maiden name is Wheeler. I wonder if there is a connection there. My dad is the only son of an only son so we really don't have any relatives until a ways back.
