Homesick

We are back and I am homesick. I miss seeing green. I miss the mountains. I miss Bajios! I miss having my kids being able to play outside. I miss the Utah summer nights and the nice breeze coming in the windows. I miss driving by the Timpanogos Temple everyday. I miss the cool mornings and the fresh scent that it brings. But more than anything I miss my parents. I miss the interaction between them and my kids.
But having spent a little over 2 weeks apart from Daniel, I would rather be here in this blasted sweltering desert waste land with him, than up there without him. I missed seeing his facial expressions, and I missed his presence. I especially missed his hugs and his companionship. I missed him coming home and the kids jumping all over him. I missed his kisses and I missed waking up next to him each morning. And i missed a zillion other things but this is sappy enough already- lets just say I missed him!!

Last week we got to drive up the AF Canyon and did FHE with my siblings. James became attached to his Uncle Jer and spent all his time right next to him. Toast enjoyed being a pyro with his Uncle Reed, and my kids enjoyed their first smores. Ben enjoyed spitting up on everyone who held him. We got to celebrate Lucys b-day while we were there, which brought with it the tradition of homemade ice-cream!! and we got to visit with the Lamoreauxs as my cousin Phil had his homecoming while we were there. We got to see Megans baby and Amandas baby, both just so adorable. We got to explore my parents beautiful new house, which they should be moving into in a few weeks. We also got to see my sisters beautiful new house, as they so kindly let us stay with them for a few nights. We got to visit with Daniels parents and his sister and her family. We got to go to Lagoon with them and enjoyed the fireworks that night. We also got to go on a much needed date as my mom watched all 4 monkeys for us, so we enjoyed that time together. We also got to take the scenic route home as we somehow missed a certain turn-off at some point.
SO now that we are here, I am trying to remind myself that even though it was fun to be with my family, and it was wonderful to escape this blasted heat, being with Daniel is my favorite thing and therefore I can deal with whatever(being here for example) as long as I have him--Now that's LOVE!

You are not alone. I've been soooo homesick lately too. I've been really wanting to go visit my parents and family. I think it's because Ian's taking a summer school class, so he's super busy. That's when I wish my family were close, so I could go hang with them when he's not around.

I wouldn't call Yuma a "wasteland." That seems harsh. We missed you and are so glad you are back. We felt bad for Daniel.

"Wasteland? I think you mean wonderland!" (movie trivia)
Ok Sabra, maybe I was being a little bit dramatic to prove my point- but I've never seen Yuma on a "1000 top places to live or visit" list.

I do the same thing every summer. I plan long trips where we have a great time, make memories, and miss Ryan. Yet, I do it over and over and over. Why do I torture myself so?

Hi Kimmy, you probably don't even know who I am, but I always see your name on my friends comment sections. I have to say you have a gorgeous family!!!!!!! I want to go to Utah after reading your post. I am so glad you married Daniel, he is such a nice guy. You guys seem like a perfect fit. Ok well I will quit blog stalking and go stop my kids from arguing! Have a good day, it is way toooo hot.
