Sweet blessings

One of my favorite quotes is by Jeffery R. Holland. He said, "Some blessings come soon, some come late, and some don't come until heaven. But for those who embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ, they come." Well I am happy to say one totally sweet blessing happened to find its way to me today. TOTALLY SWEET! Let me give you some background. Back in December I was asked to talk in church. I really really really dont like talking in front of any type of group of people- never have, never will. Anyway as bribery the 1st counselor in the bishopric said something about bringing by some ice-cream if I did it. That still didnt cause within myself a desire to give a talk, but I got it over with and now that its been 7 months since that time, I really havent thought back upon that unpleasant experience. Not until today. There was a knock upon the door this afternoon, and Daniel answered it. Into his hands were given 3 lovely little pints of totally sweet creamy delicious freezing cold ice-cream, with the explanation, "Kimmy will know what this is for." (Perhaps you want to look at that quote again--Yes some blessings come late, but they do come.) Looking at those lovely little blessings of heavenly deliciousness may just have made those few moments of my lunatical nervous ramblings several months ago worth it. And can I just say- our bishopric totally rocks! Yeah- they are THAT Cool! Sweet, sweet blessings.

Ice cream is a wonderful blessing indeed. I'd give a talk in exchange for icecream any day.

That's awesome! I've never gotten ice cream for speaking in church! I think I need to have a talk with our bishopric! I love that quote, thanks for reminding me!

Kim, you fixed my blog? Well at least we can see the pictures now without the background showing through. Thank you so much! The recipe went already to the older posts--I don't know why cause I just put it in this morning but hopefully you got it. Let me know about getting the music and links back on and how the chex turns out. Love you, Mom

I guess he knew that the ice cream was much more needed now than in December!

Wow that sounds like a pretty cool bishopric. We had to speak this Sunday too, not a fan of public speaking, at least we are off the hook there for a while. Who's in your bishoric?
